Introducing Sharon Olinka



Sharon Olinka believes in building bridges between cultures.
THE GOOD CITY, her second book of poems, is about Izmir.

Ms. Olinka has won a Barbara Deming Memorial Award grant. Her work has recently appeared in Barrow Street, Poetry East, Confrontation, The Café Review, and Jewish Quarterly in London, Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam, from Random House, and An Eye For An Eye Makes the Whole World Blind, from Regent Publishing in California, which won the PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award.

Ms. Olinka teaches writing workshops, regularly reads her work in universities and conferences all over the world.
She is a member of PEN American Center and currently lives in New York City.
